Does the crash detection still work?

I have enabled the crash detection (Syncthing > Settings > Debug > Notify about Syncthing crashes), then closed the app. Then (in the system Settings > Apps > Synthing) I killed the process (Force stop). When I opened the Synthing app again, I wasn’t notified about the recent crash.

Did I do something wrong? Does the crash detection work?

Device: Samsung S22, Android 14, Syncthing 1.27.3.

Not really 100% sure here, but I believe the crash detection may only be about detecting crashes of the internal Syncthing process, not the app itself.

Crash is when we observe a panic in the outer process. People shutting down their computers, killing processes or power loss is not considered a crash in that context.
