Hello, I’m unfortunately a massive noob when it comes to anything network related. I’m trying to use Syncthing to sync my notes between my Desktop and my Android device and I just… can’t seem to get the two to actually connect to one another. The Desktop is connected to the router via ethernet while the phone is using Wifi. I know this is fairly little information to go on but I genuinely don’t know what I’m doing wrong, whatever tutorial I look at the devices seem to just connect automatically once they are added on one side as a remote device to send files.
Can they ping one-another? Are they on the same network? Most home networks use a /24 subnet mask, so if they both have an IP address of (for example) 192.168.1.x, they’re on the same network. If the first three numbers in the IP address are different between them, they’re not on the same network.
GUI screenshots, both sides.
I… think I have figured it out, it seems despite me making an exception for the app when it comes to the phone’s powersaving settings I still needed to modify the run conditions to also ignore those settings. They seem to now be communicating fine and syncing, appreciate the help everyone.
