Hi, I am using ST in a network of about 20 devices, all pointing to a central always-on server. Now, I have to migrate to a new server and I would like this move to be transparent for the users. Right now, both servers are on, the new server has its own installation of Syncthing (and its own ID) and all folders of the old server are synced to the new one.

I wonder if there is a way to make the new server have the same ID of the old one, which would be then switched off and not used anymore in the network. Is this possible? Is it enough just copying the config folder of the old server to the new one?

The device ID “lives” in the key.pem and cert.pem files in the config folder. Copy those, shut down the old, start up the new, and you should be fine.
