Curl-ing syncthing works on one PC and, on another fails, with a CSRF error

Hey all

I have long used

curl -s http://127.0.0.1:8384/rest/system/ping

on my Linux PCs to determine whether Syncthing is running. However: I am setting up a new Linux PC, and on that PC, but not on my other Linux PC, the command yields CSRF Error. The two PCs have the same OS and DE, and I get the error (on the affected PC) with no VPN on and with the firewall disabled.

I would welcome any illumination!

Ah. It seems as if one needs to reboot after installing Syncthing. For, that seems to have cleared the error.

EDIT: does the forum lack a ‘solved’ button?
