I have been using syncthing long term and suddenly it has stopped working.
I get an error message on startup: “Sorry, connecting to HTTPS is not supported on this platform. Please, use WebUI to disable HTTPS try again.”
When I try to go to https://localhost:8384/ it says “Your connection is not secure. The owner of localhost has configured their web site improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this web site.”
If I force an exception then the web interface is blank. it is as if I have never set up any sync folders.
That’s the normal response, as the https cert has been generated by syncthing and is not trusted. You still should have the ability to get to the site, depending on your browser.
The other message is SyncthingGTK specific, which I don’t know.
Ok. I’m going to re-ask this question without the conflating reference to certs. Please do not close off the new question. If you must close off duplicate questions then please close this one.
There is no need to re-ask, I think the question is perfectly clear from the subject line and second paragraph. (The second part was answered, but adds no confusion.)
