Compression between Syncthing devices

Hi,

just a quick question: Do I have to enable compression “always” on both sides of a device link? Who decides which data is compressed (metadata, all) if e.g. one side is set to “metadata” and the partner device to “always”?

The config affects messages you send. The other side does what they want.
