Completely Lost

I must admit I have got myself completely bogged down. I want to sync a Mac mini (Send/Receive) to a iMac (Receive Only) The app with all it’s contents is NeoFinder (Hope someone is familiar with it) I have NeoFinder setup great on both devices. I went through (I think) the setup on both to the best of my knowledge (Which isn’t much)

But when I changed something on the Mac mini it hasn’t changed on the iMac.

Could someone please guide me through (In layman’s language PLEASE) from start to finish.

SAs this would save me having to copy & paste via usb hd from device to device.

Much appreciation in advance. Kind Regards Bob

The good news is that the documentation for Syncthing is in my opinion very well written. Please start here Syncthing Configuration — Syncthing documentation and here FAQ — Syncthing documentation .

The bad news is that you have not given me anything to go on regrading your problem — other than that one normally would use a Send Only Folder with a Receive Only Folder for the use case you describe. See Folder Types — Syncthing documentation for more information.

Once you’ve done through that, if you continue to have challenges please post screenshots of the Syncthing GUI from both sides.

I agree it may be well written however I don’t understand the format, codes or what ever. I gave up programming some 40 yrs ago.

However I’ll battle on (When the grey matter is clearer)

Many thanks for your assistance.

There’s a lot of unknowns, including screenshots of Syncthing’s web UI on both your Macs which would be very helpful.

Try the following YouTube video: Syncthing Made EASYhttps://youtu.be/PSx-BkMOPF4

I recommend watching the entire video tutorial without trying to follow any of the steps mentioned in it in order to get a better idea of how Syncthing works. After the first viewing, then go back thru the steps as needed.

Start small and simple with just a single test folder containing a single test file. Get Syncthing to successfully sync that between the two Macs before moving onto NeoFinder.
