I have a raspberry pi that serves as a remote rsync backup for my synology drive. It has a 1t external hdd and a 32g usb. The system runs from the 32g usb and my backups go to the 1t external drive. When I installed syncthing, it of course automatically installed to 32g usb. So when I add devices and folders they are automatically created in my /home/user/ folder on the usb. I don’t want to have to worry about filling up the 32g usb. Is there a way to change this so that my syncthing’s storage location is the external mounted hdd (ie. the location my shared folders are created and stored).
In the Add Folder
dialog, you can freely choose any location you desire. The dialog should appear every time you add or accept a folder share.

And so each time I add a folder or accept one from a remote decode I will have to change the path? There isn’t a way to change the default path?

You can change the default folder path under
(GUI) Actions → Settings → General → Edit Folder Defaults → General → Folder Path
