Change destination folder

I can’t understand how to change the default folder path where files from remote devices will be stored. I read all the “similar questions” on the support section but something is missing in my understanding.

What I did so far:

  1. deleted the default folder on the GUI and deleted it physically from the hd (\users[username]…)
  2. created another folder in the GUI with the proper destination in another location (with receive only property)
  3. on the GUI → Actions → Advanced → default folder and I added there the new path
  4. restarted Syncthing
  5. when I see the request for syncing from the remote device I click add but the path at the bottom in red, is still the \users[username] folder

Could you help me ? What am I overlooking ?

Can you post some screenshots of the GUI where you’re trying to make those changes? Also, when it comes to the default folder path, there’s no need to use the Advanced Configuration. You can do it in Actions → Settings → Edit Folder Defaults.

Dear Tomasz86, I think I made it, following your suggestion. I think that the message at the bottom of the page it is just a suggestion about the shortcut with ~ meaning \users[nameuser] not the actual destination folder.
