Can't throttle download rates

OK, I’m having the opposite problem most people are having with rates. I just installed 1.28.0 on a new machine running Mint 22. Syncthing is running fine but as you can see in this screenshot, the download rates are much higher than what I’ve set in the settings.

This machine is on a crappy old CAT5 branch in my house which is throttling down to 100 Mbps and Syncthing is completely hammering my connection when it’s running. I can’t even reach google or my router’s config page unless I halt transfers.

I’ve tried a number of different rate limits on both download and upload for my local instance and the remote server I’m connecting to. I’ve also tried mucking around with the number of connections, including a single connection which is when the screenshot was taken. As you can see, the rate limiting doesn’t seem to be operating correctly.

I’ve never run into this issue before but that might simply be because Syncthing wasn’t able to max out even a fairly slow wired connection on my older machines. Is there a setting I’m missing?

You need to enable https://docs.syncthing.net/users/config.html#config-option-options.limitbandwidthinlan.

Thanks! Found the toggle under the advanced settings. Seems to be working.
