I have Syncthing setup on a TrueNAS installation. I have folders setup in the /mnt/Storage directory for each user. I have my user folder mapped to my PC and I can access it. When I try to add a folder in Syncthing (say /mnt/Storage/Will/Documents for example) it returns with a “permission denied” error.
I started checking permissions and Syncthing is using the root user in TrueNAS so I would assume it should have all permissions but it still doesn’t work. Any ideas? Thanks.
If i understand correct you are running syncthing on truenas?
for that you should check that the acl’s on the folders you want to be accessible by Syncthing (in docker) are accessible by the “apps” user in truenas.
linking to a thread from a few days ago. which has a better explanation and screenshots.
So the folders are in the mapped drive as you can see and I used those as the locations for the server side shares but I’m still getting the same error. However on the PC side of Syncthing it added the folders and it’s scanning normally.
Disregard the folders with the “1” at the end, those were the originals that I setup that were syncing fine but I couldn’t see them in my mapped server drive. On that note - how do I delete the files in those original folders? I see I can delete the shares but it says that won’t delete any files.
