I understand that there are play store issues with this app and it is not worth the developers time to deal with the google’s bureaucracy.
However, are there roadblocks to releasing the updated apks in the download section so that we can directly install/sideload?
The last version currently works for me but I am afraid at some point there will be incompatibilities with the OSX version that will break basic functionality that I use on a daily basis.
The reasoning from the original annoucement still answers that:
I do not recommend to keep using that. Transitioning to a maintained alternative is seamless - you find info on that in the announcement thread (among a few other places): Discontinuing syncthing-android
Maybe this gives some insights about the last releases and which will be strategy to continue:
I am now patiently waiting for nel0x ideas and input about the google play publishing. Myself, I’m minimalistic: if I could wish for just one thing, then just keeping the store entry alive, even if no updates, would suit me already. So users know, Syncthing-Android is not dead.
