Any plans for "permissions"?

Say there is a team that wants to share files for a project. The team leader may decide only certain users have overwrite permissions. So, if a user without permissions tries to overwrite, the user and/or the team leader hets an alert, optionally with a dialog to allow overwrite just once.

That doesn’t sound very Syncthingy to me… We don’t really have users as such and, if we for example consider “originating device” instead of “user”, it’s still a bit slippery in that a file can sync from A to B to C before reaching D who might want to apply some sort of permission policy…

We succesfully managing permissions by managing ignore files with the name of the people included by users as ignore pattern at install. We are and using “!” To include the folders we want and ** to say to not include everything else
