I’ve rebuilt the announce server to use a Docker image. I’m not doing that for the v0.8 protocol. According to the usage data, that’s 0.9% of the population - you guys should upgrade, or can set up an equally old announce server for yourselves.

Have you considered running the server as an unpriviliged user inside the container? Seems to work fine for me and (I think) could be viewed as potentially more secure. Here’s mine: https://github.com/firecat53/dockerfiles/tree/master/syncthing_discovery

Yes, it should. It’s always been that way on the announce server, but I was lazy when I set up the Docker image now.
