Android - NAS sync doesnt work

Ive reinstalled my nas and now im trying to setup my syncthing to backup pictures etc from my android to my nas but the files are not uploaded to my nas when new files are put in the ‘camera’ folder for example.

What ive done:

  1. Installed the newest fork on my Android
  2. Installed the newest syncthing on my nas and gave it all permissions to my backup folder. sc-syncthing.
  3. Setup the folder connections on my phone to my nas and the connection is established
  4. Global and local status are identical
  5. When i connect a test folder of my phone to my nas it says that its updated but no files are in the folder (in this case a mp4 file is in the testfolder)
  6. Reinstalled everything.

Can someone please help me out, i already invested quite some time (searched the internet / chatgpt and reinstalled everything etc)

Syncthing said it couldn’t find the directory that’s supposed to be synced…

The UI on both Android and the NAS should show what the current path to be sync is, so at this point, seeing screenshots from Android and the NAS would be very helpful.

Hey,

Thank you for your response! Herewith my screenshots, hope you can help me further.

The screenshots don’t match the earlier log output…

… but in the screenshots the receiving side is saying it’s up to date, and the latest change listed is pretty recent, so it appears that it’s working just fine.

I understand, my bad, i made a test folder to check things. And when i do this it shows this message but no files appear in the folder:

2025-09-30 21:11:47 INF Synced file (folder.label="Test Telefoon" folder.id=dyomm-sxb9o folder.type=sendreceive file.name=6661.jpg file.modified="2025-08-30 07:01:42.243455016 +0200 CEST" file.permissions=0660 file.size=53037 file.blocksize=131072 blocks.local=0 blocks.download=1 log.pkg=model)

afterwards it says that everything is ‘up to date’.

Your new test folder is again unrelated to the earlier screenshots that look fine, and the single new log entry doesn’t show an error, so there’s very little to work with.

Given the limited info, odds are that it’s a permissions issue on the NAS, but without knowing what kind of NAS it is, what versions of Syncthing are being used, the source and destination paths, etc. etc. etc. it’s a bit like figuring out what’s inside a black box sitting on a table – in a dark room.
