Access denied


I am new to Syncthing and wanted to sync up my save files between my pc and steam deck but stumbled upon this issue that I couldn’t resolve on my pc and now it won’t sync.

What can I do to fix this?

In most cases, it’s because Syncthing isn’t running under the same user who owns the folders and files to be synced.

Pull up Windows Task Manager, find the “syncthing.exe” process, and note the user account that’s running it.

Based on your screenshot, if it isn’t user matra, uninstall Syncthing, then reinstall while logged on as user matra. If you used a 3rd-party installer and it offers an administrative or non-administrative install option, choose the non-administrative install.

Without knowing which Syncthing bundle was used (the download link would be most helpful), it’s difficult to offer more details instructions.

I uninstalled and installed using the non-administrative option and that seemed to work!
