It was recommended that I could use 0 interval to disable scans thus moving to manual mode. Well I changed te interval to 0 on my Arm Linux build, and I still get recans without my intervention. Infact, I just put a file to my Linux box and it was sent to the Arm Linux without me doing anything.
Seems like you should change the rescann interval on the Linux box.
When a change is detected by any device, the change is always announced to all connected devices immediately after the rescan finishes. Once the remote device knows about the changed file, it will start requesting blocks from it.
