undoing mis-sync ?

I reconnected an old computer from 2 years ago. Unfortunately, my current real sync had a lot of files deleted, moved to other places, etc, over the last two years, and now I have files all over that I had not seen for years…would have been smarter to remove all the old files first before reconnecting this computer, of course, but that train has lost the station.

alas, before I wipe and start over (on all my computers now :frowning:), is there a way to undo the sync? I am guessing no, but wanted to ask…

Do you have (by coincident) a snapshot in place from before the mis-sync?

sadly, nope…unless syncthing automatically keeps some…and since it’s macos, although the file system is able to do it, no one does it on their main volume anyway. it seems to be a timemachine-thingy.
