understanding sync and local / global state

hi,

what means global and local state? I ask because I don’t know if syncthing downloads all files to each client automatically or only on browsing in the app or a client.

and when it downloads all files by default … is it possible to change it to on access a file? thanks a lot

Local state: The state according to what’s on the local device. Global state: The state which has been received from other devices.

If you don’t have any exclude rules, everything is downloaded. It is not possible to change that to download-on-access.
