Unable to open log device '/dev/log/main': permission denied

Since a couple of days, I cannot start the syncthing app on Android 4.0.4. I get the above error message “Unable to open log device ‘/dev/log/main’: permission denied” when I start the app on my Android.

I already tried to

  1. delete the app on Android,
  2. disconnect all shared folders on MacOS,
  3. remove all shared data on the Android device,
  4. and then reinstall the app on Android from the Google PlayStore, but I keep getting the same error message.

I run the syncthing version “v0.14.43, Mac OS X (64 bit)” under MacOS 10.13.2, but I think this is a pure Android issue…

Can anyone help, please?

same Problem! same Android Version!

no feedback?

Just an FYI, apparently minimum required version of Android is 4.1. We are dropping support in the next release as it’s not working as it stands now anyway.
