syncthing not working

Hi,

Not sure whats happened, but syncthing is not working for me at all.

It used to work fine for ages, but now it doesn’t after recent re-install.

  1. I’ve added another device which always shows as disconnected, even though occassionally I’ll get a notification of some files being downloaded and other side saying its out of sync. I get this on both my laptops.

  2. the webpage 127.0.0.1:8080 just hangs forever doing nothing.

  3. the daemon seems to be running as I get the below deamon output.

  4. I’m using linux manjaro on both systems.

Syncthing does not have permissions to change/modify the files.

I’ve done chmod 777 to all files/directories recursively, so everyone can read/write.

Sure, but syncthing needs to be able to set permissions, which usually means syncthing needs to own the files, unless you check ignore permissions checkbox.

Thats strange as I never had to set any permissions for syncthing before and everything used to work fine.

Its probably because I’m logged in as user2 now, when user1 created the files in question.

  1. How do I ignore permissions?

I’ve tried adding argument “Ignore Permissions” in syncthing gui for manjaro linux but it doesn’t work.

  1. Should syncthing stop working completely for user2, just because some files are owned by user1 (even they user2 can read/write to them).

This doesn’t seem sensible?

That’s exactly why ignore permissions is there. You can argue that it’s not sensible that user2 can’t modify permissions for files owned by user1, but that is out of our control.

Ignore permissions is a checkbox available on each folder.
