That seems to be a solution though. The problem here isn’t that we don’t play nice, it’s that the watch API provided by freebsd is quite resource intensive for the OS when watching many things.
As an FYI - FreeBSD runs PERIODIC(8) at 3:01 am every night.
The only slowdown I see on, for all my FreeBSD machines, is one machine that is so old and long in the tooth that I really should e-recycle it. But it’s dear to my heart so I keep it. I might turn it into an actual backup machine someday where it just writing from one disk to another. And I have no tweaks done anywhere.
