Has there been any new direction taken with symlinks in the new .9x development line?

https://github.com/syncthing/syncthing/issues/92 contains the discussion so far. What I see is that no two people agree on how they expect it to work exactly, especially not the cross platform corner cases. I don’t myself have a clear image in my mind of what I would expect either. Hence, “wontfix”.
