It was running v0.09 prior to this and working fine. At that point, it was NOT set to automatically upgrade.
I clicked to upgrade to v0.11 and it apparently did so. I also set it to auto-upgrade. After a restart, in the browser window (IE11), it shows me “Unknown Device {0}” or something like that and continually restarts itself.
I killed both processes in Task Mgr and reinstalled a copy of v0.07 that I had had saved, into the original directory that I had been using, but it’s still restarting itself.
I suspect that something in App Data\Syncthing is hosed, but I don’t know how to troubleshoot that. Should I just delete the contents there and start over?
There’s no indication in that log that Syncthing is restarting. What makes you say that it’s continually restarting? Are you trying to access Syncthing at http://127.0.0.1:8384/, or are you using e.g. http://127.0.0.1:8080?
EDIT: Also note that jumping back two minor versions very likely will not work. Your configuration is migrated when when you upgrade, but I don’t believe it’s migrated down when you downgrade. Backups of your configuration are made before the migrations are applied, so if you wanted to you could downgrade with a bit of manual work, but that’s not automatic.
I didn’t change anything in the browser. It’s opening a single tab at http://127.0.0.1:8384. It’s the only thing I use the browser for. This PC is just a place to catch copies of things from other devices.
By continually restarting, I mean that the tab opens, it starts to load, and then the page refreshes and it starts all over again.
I don’t have a lot to redo with this device as far as reinstalling is concerned. Rather than burn time troubleshooting, what do I do to start fresh regarding that App Data folder? Delete it and reinstall from a fresh download here?
Edit to add: When I look in the browser on one of the other PCs, I see the device with the problem as “Up to Date” and running V.07.
Odd. Tried closing / re-opening the browser / clearing cookies / etc? If you’ve got Chrome handy, can you open up F12 Developer Tools, and screenshot the ‘Network’ tab after it gets stuck in its refresh loop.
That’s not how bugs are fixed If you want to nuke your index, shutdown Syncthing, delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\Syncthing\index, and start Syncthing again.
I cleared the cookies in the browser and restarted it. Syncthing started normally in v.07, from the install I had done earlier and described here. I also noted that auto-upgrade was enabled in settings, BUT I saw the flag at top inviting me to upgrade to v.11. So there’s a disconnect there.
I clicked it, Synchthing upgraded and restarted, and immediately started the continual browser refreshing again. I killed the tab and deleted cookies again in a blank tab, restarted the browser, but it is still in a refresh loop. Syncthing is the home page for the browser and nothing else is open there. In one of the other PCs, I see the problem PC now at v.11.11 and up to date. But I can’t use the GUI on it because of the continual refreshing.
I think a screenshot from the developer tools of whatever browser you’re using, which will indicate why the browser is refreshing (i.e. is Syncthing sending it a header tell it to? etc) is the next step.
Please don’t use that to refer to something other than possibly v0.7.x. I understood later that you meant v0.11.7, but was seriously confused about wtf you were doing for a while.

Yeah, ok, I get that. I was confusing it unintentionally by trying to distinguish the .7 from the .11 in the v.0.11.xx string. Should have written it full, but I was moving from the problem PC to another to post here.
Anyway, I’m sorry I don’t have any further feedback for you to help address this. I nuked the app data folder and started over. The PC is only syncing two folders as a storage location and I don’t need the db history or the log.
I believe the problem is related to having done two things simultaneously: upgrading, and changing the setting to “auto upgrading” before restarting. The PC is slow–an old Atom processor and only 2GB RAM. I think it just choked and fouled up its configuration.
It’s working ok now, on v.0.11.11, set to autoupdate.
