hello, is there a way to send only new files in a folder in one direction, no changes to these files. I lost some photos because the sd card in my phone was damaged, the photos are all still readable, but the encryption key was apparently destroyed (at least android does not recognize the card as encrypted anymore), syncthing then recognized all pictures that were no longer decrypted as changed and replaced the decrypted pictures on the PC with encrypted ones.
The only way I could think of would be to add all your existing files to ignore patterns, either manually or automatically somehow. Otherwise, you could simply set up file versioning for the folder on the other side, so if the original files become corrupted for some reason, you can always restore the previous versions.
thank you very much, i switched on staggered file versioning directly and just thought that in such a case it would still lead to an immediate doubling of data consumption. Since the photos all start with the year number, I will probably use them for the ignore pattern and only allow changes in the current year, but this problem does not arise for the time being, I am still undecided whether I copy all the old photos from the backup back to the sdcard at all because I also have them all online.
