Scanning taking too long?

I was using Syncthing with less than 15GB’s before, and haven’t tried large amount of data to sync. Currently i’m doing “spring cleanup” with my music library. Because it was a mess. Moderated every folder, created new folder hierarchy, converted everything to OPUS 96 kbps. And planning to send folders through cable to my phone, and then allow syncthing to sync folders between PC & Phone (iTunes for poors).

Usually this kind of process might take 6-12 hours MAX on HDD due of how much content there is. And because i already started scanning + i have other storage-heavy tasks on background. I can’t defrag HDD (if it helps scanning at all).

My PC rig is:

CPU: Ryzen 5500

RAM: 16GB DDR4 — 2666-3200Mhz XMP

Storage affected: Old 1TB 7200RPM Samsung HDD (CDI says its on Caution state, but no major malfunction)

Syncthing version: Build 2026-03-13

Windows 11 24H2: Build 26100.7462

Folders info

Music A: 70.4GB (12 659 files; 25 Folders)

Music B: 17,7GB (4 728 files; 62 Folders)

This looks a lot like you have a performance problem that isn’t related to Syncthing.

Okay, that’s okay. It shows that time incorrectly apparently. Because, after i posted this it already scanned all. But it felt really off of standard “windows estimation”. I was thinking it would take week to scan minimum.
