I am setting up a new Dell PowerEgde R730 server with Windows Server 2012 R2 for one of our branch offices. I want to install Syncthing and add this machine to my existing network of Syncthing machines. I want to sync all shared folders while the server is located in my office. Once the folders have all synchronized, I will deploy this server to the branch office. I will need to rename the server and add file sharing permissions to the Syncthing shared folders so the folders can be mapped as network drives to the existing network users. Will renaming the server, or changing permissions break Syncthing on this server? The file permissions I set will include full read / write access to the user account which runs Syncthing.
