This is of course not syncthing’s fault, but it’s rather annoying that, while we’re in 2021, about 30 years after Android and Windows core have made these “invalid character” decisions, they have not been able to standardize these among each other. Good grief, think about the time that would have saved by now, just dealing with this syncing failure from a very common Samsung smartphone to a very common Win10 PC will cost me hours of getting it solved, and months if I want to not have to encounter it ever again. Pathetic. And they wonder why humans want to try suicide. One huge embarrassment, all 'n all, isn’t it?
