Hi, I just adding my sister’s phone to my Syncthing network so she can sync photos with home network storage. Whats happen to the “syncing” files when we lost power or internet connection? They will lost (maybe broken files e.g. damaged video file) or renew with the new files after re-sync? Thanks
Syncthing can continue where it was when the disconnect occured. Shutting down devices should be done gracefully to be safe from data corruption. But this applies to everyday’s normal OS usage as well. You wouldn’t expect your tablet record an intact video file when you remove its battery while recording.
Things happen though. I have recently had power supply issues leading to abrupt shutdowns, and in the past had a lightning strike fry my whole computer.
That said, Syncthing until now has always been able to recover and continue its job despite these circumstances.
