"mirror folders" created on Android

I removed Syncthing from my devices and reinstalled for a fresh start. New setup is between my phone, laptop, desktop - android, linux ubuntu, same.

I get the notification on my phone, click on it to set up a folder, and use it to create a folder in sdcard/Documents/[folder]. Save. On phone everything looks normal, but on both laptop and desktop, I get all the folders I showing up again inside one of the other folders.

Before syncing phone:

on Desktop:

Documents
  \ folder 1
  \ folder 2
  \ folder 3
  \ folder 4

on Laptop:

Documents
  \ folder 1
  \ folder 2
  \ folder 3
  \ folder 4

on phone: [nothing, didn’t add folders yet to syncthing]

After syncing phone:

Desktop:

Documents
  \ folder 1
  \ folder 2
    \ folder 1
    \ folder 2
    \ folder 3
    \ folder 4
  \ folder 3
  \ folder 4

Laptop:

Documents
  \ folder 1
  \ folder 2
    \ folder 1
    \ folder 2
    \ folder 3
    \ folder 4
  \ folder 3
  \ folder 4

Phone:

Documents
  \ folder 1
  \ folder 2
  \ folder 3
  \ folder 4

So everything looks good on phone, but not on laptop and desktop. I tried to remove folders from phone, this deletes the second set from both computers and they seem to sync fine anyway. Add phone again, same issue… help?

You can remove them and add them manually on the desktop. Perhaps you modified the default folder path in the settings?
