[Linux] "Cannot open database"

My distro is UberStudent 4.3 https://distrowatch.com/?newsid=09240

I had downloaded and setup Syncthing between my Win10 and UberStudent OS’s with no problem. Lately however after an update for Syncthing on UberStudent was installed, all it says when I try to start Syncthing via the Terminal is:

“FATAL: Cannot open database: read /home/username/.config/syncthing/index-v0.11.0.db/008932.ldb: input/output error - Is another copy of Synthing already running?”

Thank you in advance

Did you check what the error is reporting? In other words, is another copy of synchthing running?

In addition to that, I/O error could simply mean your hard disk is failing or the file system is corrupt. (The typical “already running” message is along the lines of “resource unavailable”, but it’s tricky to tell for sure from inside Syncthing so the suggestion is kinda generic.)

Aye, that’s exactly what it says
