installing Syncthing on Netgear ReadyNAS 104

Edit /home/karst/.config/syncthing/config.xml and change the address to 0.0.0.0:8384. Don’t forget to enable tls and authentication after your first login

https://docs.syncthing.net/users/config.html#gui-element

I remember a previous NAS that would cease to be able to log in once a secure connection was enabled.

That may have been https rather than tls. (looks like setting is the same?)

Do I need to verify tls and authentication works on ReadyNAS before enabling?

I used vi to edit config (first editor that would work, included in Debian)

Set address to 0.0.0.0:8384 and rebooted NAS

GUI came up and alerted about an encryped usage report - i agreed

Also alerted about GUI login, so i used Karst and it’s password.

I have not set force https (tls)

looks to be working so far.

EDIT: I think i fixed path.

I’m having trouble defining the path to a custom location.

the ReadyNAS GUI shows it as \Netgear-NAS\data\Chely\d drive

I have tried the usual /volume1/data/chely/d drive type path i have used on other linus NAS drives.

I’ve tried multiple variations of the path. with and without /volume1/ /Netgear-NAS/ /data/ and combinations of them.

on my synology NAS it will show me an actual path, but this Netgear won’t show me the raw path details.

any suggestion to find the actual path of the folder?

Working path:

/data/Chely/d-drive (also had to replace the space in the folder name.)
