Personally, as long as no one sees my specific Node IDs and IP addresses, and as long as these details can not published anywhere - then I am comfortable that my privacy is respected here. Knowing that my 6 nodes are part of a user community of 17 hundred or 17 million nodes doesn’t feel like an invasion of my privacy.

However, this is your project, and whatever you decide, I can live with it.

One consideration - if we do start quantifying the user base, the for profit alternatives will take notice when Syncthing really starts to gather momentum. Not sure if that matters or not, but just wanted to mention it.

Oh and seeing as Android has 2300 installs through the Play Store alone, the 2111 nodes estimate must be way off :stuck_out_tongue:
