While I’m not afflicted with syncthing much, it appears to me (probably too late), that this is a great opportunity for some students to work on the missing Go support for the Android Storage Access Framework.

@calmh: yes, that would create some paper work for you, if somebody is interested, but this is a real show stopper for syncthing.

See [https://github.com/golang/go/issues/10588](https://github.com/golang/go/issues/10588) and [https://github.com/syncthing/syncthing-android/issues/719](https://github.com/syncthing/syncthing-android/issues/719)

Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a global program that matches students up with open source, free software and technology-related organizations to write code and get paid to do it! The organizations provide mentors who act as guides through the entire process, from learning about the community to contributing code. The idea is to get students involved in and familiar with the open source community and help them to put their summer b…

I can say up front that unfortunately I do not have the time and energy to drive this home, paper work wise. However if someone else does that I would be happy to mentor and help students that take this on.
