# How to make sure only the newest version is synced?

Maybe it’s default, though I couldn’t find anything about this. For example, if I have the most updated copy of the folder I only want mine to go through.

I’m definitely not understanding your question.

Please see [Understanding Synchronization — Syncthing documentation](https://docs.syncthing.net/users/syncing.html) — Syncthing determines the most recent version of a file and by default keeps that version. In the event of files that are changed simultaneously, that causes a sync conflict.

Mostly by not changing files simultaneously.

Syncthing can’t figure out what you mean to do except by file metadata. So if the files are changed on more than one Device simultaneously, you need to figure out which version you want to keep — or all versions, if you prefer.
