Hello all,

Files are missing from a receive-only folder after a drive failure. Syncthing thinks everything is in sync. How do I force it to scan the entire folder and resync only the missing files from the send-only device? Rescan doesn’t do it.

Thanks!

There’s no force, a normal rescan is sufficient to detect missing files and offer to re-sync them (the “revert” button). It saying “up to date” with files missing in receive-only shouldn’t happen and we should troubleshoot, starting with screenshots of the actual situation and then, if it’s still unclear, [debug information on the missing file](https://docs.syncthing.net/dev/debugging.html)…

Thanks for the reminder about the “revert” button. I never remember about it. I usually think, there are some local changes that I don’t want to delete, like metadata files created locally that are not synced from the server. Or files that were deleted on purpose, that I don’t want to sync back. So I never use it. It’s very confusing.

Anyway none of that was true for this folder so I used the revert button and the files are back in order.

Thanks again for helping. Sorry to waste a topic on such a simple fix.
