Better one Master-Device or univeral share?

Hi all,

I’m still a quite new user, so maybe my question is a bit basic…

Anyways - my use case is that I want so sync one folder (with subfolders, pictures etc.) between my mobile, the mobile of my wife, my PC and her PC.

Is it better to have one “master device” like my PC, and every other device is only synced with my PC? Or is it better if each device is synced with all 3 other devices?

Is both technical possible? If yes, what are adventages and disadventages in your opinion and which way would you choose?

Thanks for the help

By the way: So far I’m really happy with the tool!!!

Both solutions are possible and valid ways to use Syncthing. Which one you should pick (or anything in between) depends on what you need. Linking all devices directly allows them to synchronize opportunistically, even when the “master-device” is out of reach. It does have a little cost associated as each connection consumes some memory (RAM and database storage) and network traffic on the devices. But with the small number of devices you’re talking about, it usually won’t matter.
