Asustor App Update

When will Asustor get an Update for this App. It is from 2016 and barely working. Syncthing maintain a bunch of Linux versions, but the NAS versions are not updated over years.

Your competitor update their Apps.

We don’t maintain apps for specific devices. Contact whoever produced the original version, as it was not us.

We do not want to be in the business of having to manage releases for every app store every device vendor makes.

You could probably download the latest version we released for your architecture and run it without having to deal with the vendors app store.

No chance. Asustor want a special .apk format. Tar.gz or .exe format are not accepted by the asustor OS.

And the android .apk format are not working.

It is called APKG.

.apk or .apkg is not something that any kernel is able to execute. If you open that with zip you’ll see that it’s just a bunch java classes and .so or no extension files (which is equivalent to .exe on windows) which is what it eventually executes which is equivalent to the binaries we release.

You can probably just download syncthing for the right architecture and in theory it should just work.

Anyways, as I’ve said in the previous post, we’re not interested in maintaining packages for each different vendors app store under the sun, and it the above does not help, we’re happy for the competition to take over.

Essentially, if you want this to happen, you need to go on your NAS vendor forums, as they are the one producing these packages, not us.
